Modernised drain or manhole cover production line
KTB Machinery modernised the old production line for manhole covers at TBS-SVA Group in Nederweert into a fully automated production line. The result is a flexible line capable of processing various products of different dimensions. Efficiency was increased and the margin of errors practically eliminated.
1. How an old line was turned into a modern automated system
Together with TBS-SVA Group, we transformed the production line. Through the use of robots, vision systems and ERP integration (MES), production was greatly automated and cycle times were significantly reduced. The switch from earth-moist concrete to SCC led to the development and implementation of new machinery, including new precision polyurethane moulds made by Consmema.
2. Testing, robotisation and integration
The production line has two robots, one of which is equipped with a vision system for quality control. All processes are integrated with the client’s ERP system, ensuring that production and quality are continuously monitored and controlled.
3. Results and impact
The production line processes various drain or manhole covers and rims of varying dimensions, with a margin of error that is virtually zero. Operators and technical staff were trained to run and maintain the line fully independently, ensuring the continuity and productivity of the TBS-SVA Group.
