Waterjet cutting system for cardboard
We have developed a bespoke waterjet cutting solution for the efficient reduction of waste cardboard. This system is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing production lines. Cardboard will be automatically fed into the system, reduced in size and discharged without any additional manual intervention. Water jet cutting requires no blades and is safer. Wear parts can be replaced outside the production line.




Efficient cutting technology integrated into existing production lines
The system consists of two main component. Together they ensure controlled and reliable cardboard reduction:
1. Waterjet pump (high-pressure unit)
The pump delivers clean tap water at very high pressure as a cutting medium in the cutting machine.
- Constant pressure build-up
- Low maintenance requirements
- Suitable for continuous operation
2. Waterjet cutting machine (cutting module)
Unit to be positioned under the existing laminating line, directly at the waste chute. Here, the KTB waterjet cutter will automatically take over the cardboard and cut it into smaller pieces using high-pressure water jets.
The cutting module consists of:
- Waterjet cutter in operating position (on-position)
- Waterjet cutter in maintenance position (off-position)
- Waterjet pump
- Control cabinet
The dual positions guarantee that the system is safe and can be maintained without having to halt the production process.
Safety & standards
KTB’s engineering and construction of this system takes into account all relevant machinery directives, safety standards and design requirements applicable to industrial machinery. The Machinery Directive and relevant NEN-EN-ISO standard groups are applied. By integrating these standards, the system meets the highest requirements for safety, reliability and operational reliability.
