Sliding system
KTB Machinery has developed a special sliding system for a casting machine. It supports the insertion and removal of the product mould. The sliding system complies with the requirements of the ATEX Directive, as set out in the official EC Declaration. The system enables both standard moulds and taller moulds to be handled safely and in an ergonomic manner.
Why a sliding system?
For standard products, the lower mould can be mounted directly onto the casting machine’s mounting plate. However, taller moulds require additional working space above the mould so that the manipulator can safely remove the product.
The sliding system provides the solution:
- the bottom mould is moved out of the machine
- the manipulator has sufficient headroom
- operators work safely and have an optimal view of the process
Technical specifications
- ATEX-compliant slide-out drawer construction. Fully developed in accordance with the ATEX directive, safe for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Pneumatically driven extension mechanism. Two powerful cylinders smoothly and precisely slide the mould in and out of the casting machine.
- Stable guidance with raceway and guide rollers. Precise positioning of heavy moulds, without misalignment or play.
- Optimal working space for tall moulds. The lower mould moves outside the machine, giving the manipulator sufficient height.
- Moving platform for safe access. Special operator walkway moves with the sliding system to allow safe operation.
- Integration with cooling hoses via cable chain. Controlled hose positions, no kinking or risk of damage.
- Quick installation on existing GM12 casting machine. The sliding cassette is mounted directly onto the existing mounting plate.
