Addition to truck cab transport
KTB Machinery previously developed part of the production line for this client. To further automate the process, we developed the extension of the cab conveyor. The existing line was expanded with a traverse carriage and additional safety features.

Function of the installation
The cab conveyor is used to remove cab pallets from the existing release frame. The release frame itself is an existing machine and as such no part of the extension. KTB carried out the extension with:
- a traverse carriage
- zone guarding
- chain conveyors with lifting function
- inspection hatches
During the process, the cabin is lifted off the pallet and transported via the existing release frame.
Operation of the pallet removal system
After the cabin has been removed, the operator can reset the safety zone and start the automatic cycle. The process then proceeds as follows:
1
Traverse carriage to the release frame
The traverse carriage moves to the position of the release frame.
2
Chain conveyors in upper position
The chain conveyors of both the release block and the traverse carriage are raised.
3
Transport of the empty pallet
The chain conveyors start moving, automatically transferring the empty pallet from the release block to the traverse carriage.
4
Transport to the pick-up position
The traverse carriage travels along the rails to the pick-up position, where the pallet can be removed.
The cycle is now complete and the zone may be re-entered. A new pallet with a cabin can now be placed on the release frame.
